Podcast Summaryprogressive chunky funky vocal club About Dancefloor WhoresAll about me me me Chris, being the engine that drives what is now known as the ‘Dancefloor Whores’, was once a wannabe popstar himself. ‘Splash’ was amongst the first to set a trend that witnessed the rising of the 80’s boy band phenomena. The group were made up of 3 and featured Steve Grant (Tight Fit fame) on lead vocal. Signed to Elton Johns label, Rocket Records, the boy’s began working on producing their singles with giants that included Stock Aitken & Waterman (Qu’est, Ce Que C’est), Steve Levine and Bronski Beat (European Boy). ‘Splash’ caught the attention of the media all across Europe appearing on TV shows, press and a gruelling credible live tour of all the major cities gaining a massive fan base following. Despite rising success and the big name support, it was unfortunate that the boys label decided to pull the rug from beneath it’s artists and announced, for whatever reason, the end of ‘Rocket Records’ and ultimately the end of ‘Splash’. Years later, Chris’s obsession for music had not gone away and decided to thrust himself back on to the music scene as Mach 1 the DJ. What started out as a hobby turned out to be a bit of a career path that hit international dance floors in South America, Europe, USA, Bermuda and the UAE playing at some of the most renowned clubs for various events such as the Boom Boom Room, Heaven, Pacha, Egg, Fire, Area, Crash, Gallery, Masai, Megawoof, XXL, Coliseum and more recent, spent the summer season touring the Mediterranean. Under no illusion that a DJ has a life span, Chris wanted to be back in the studio creating his own music rather than just playing others. 2007 Chris created the DJ/Producer ‘Dancefloor Whores’ intended to offer him opportunities to work with like-minded individuals in the studio and behind the decks. It wasn’t long before many an influential ear caught the attention of the ‘Dancefloor Whores’. The first unreleased production ‘Darkness’, reworked the titanic club smash ‘Deux - Sun Rising Up’, turned this track inside out that even the likes of Roger Sanchez offered support on his worldwide radio show ‘Release Yourself ‘ reaching millions of listeners and, as a result, remains to this day an ‘in demand’ record for many a DJ. 2008 witnessed an original first official release with a namesake title ‘Dancefloor Whore’ written and produced by Chris. A commercial dance track reviewed as the anthem of 2008, achieved press coverage and interviews, reached number one in several credible dance charts, remained at the top of Xpressbeats Most Wanted, QX and Gaydar radio jukebox for several months where, having been radio A-listed, led to a guest DJ spot on the Sony award winning digital station amongst others around the UK. Follow up tracks have been equally successful on the dance floor including tracks Summer Rain, Broken Heart, Upside Down, Danger On The Decks, Summer Glow to name a few. Chris now spends his time writing and building his catalogue focused on developing sound driven chunky basslines, infectious hooks and melodies aimed squarely at the dance floor. He is currently collaborating with other DJ's and producers and remains, sometimes under a different guise, in demand for his remixing skills. Such a Whore! See you on the ‘Dancefloor Whores’.
